Where to Stay in Costa Rica

Where to Stay in Costa Rica

Costa Rica. After spending two weeks in the Caribbean basking in the sun, I was looking forward to shaking things up a bit and this was just the place to do it. While I’ve never been to Costa Rica before, many of my friends have, so I knew exactly what I wanted to do when I got here. I had a list and I wasn’t about to waste a minute of my time lounging around doing nothing. I was here for action and adventure.

I arrived at the open-air Liberia airport and was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly the process was of retrieving my bag, hand-delivered baggage followed by the process of security. However, beyond the airport it is another story: total chaos awaits. Trying to find a cab was insane; I felt like a celebrity because people were yelling like crazy as they were offering me a ride to wherever I wanted to go. But at least I didn’t have to wait for a cab.

My final destination: the Four Seasons Resort on the Papagayo Peninsula. Upon arrival I was greeted by the friendliest hotel staff and was presented with a refreshing fruit beverage and a cool cloth, which was a completely welcomed given how hot it was outside; my arms and legs were already a little beginning to get a little pink just from the time I stood outside at the airport.

My room at the Four Seasons was absolutely beautiful, one in which I could completely unwind and relax. Honestly, it was the type of room you never wanted to leave. I had a spectacular ocean view, and my bellman told me to be on the lookout: monkeys sit in the trees outside of the windows.  And of course they were howling monkeys, so true to their name, ever so early in the morning they would wake me up with the sound of their howling, but I didn’t really care. As far I was concerned, I was in heaven. I was in Costa Rica, staying at the Four Seasons where the beds are so comfortable and the rooms so luxurious there isn’t a reason in the world to leave.
