I am not a sports fan, and I don’t claim to be one, but a baseball game over the weekend in Chicago made me realize why baseball is America’s favorite pastime. Since it was Sunday, July 4th, spirits were high headed into the game. Our gang was decked out in “America” gear, all sporting red, white and blue. But just because those were Cub’s colors, doesn’t mean we were rooting for the home team. We were all from Ohio, and went to undergrad at University of Dayton or Cincinnati, so the Red’s were our team!

I just spent the Fourth of July weekend in Chicago. Every time I visit, I try to do at least one touristy thing in addition to enjoying my friends, and this weekend it was the Architecture River Cruise.

Just because you are on a budget doesn’t mean you have to go hungry in San Francisco! There are great restaurants everywhere and in every price range; my favorite dinner spot and quick-lunch venues are both affordable and delicious.

Admittedly, I do not often fly American Airlines because I prefer other airlines that I have frequent flyers accounts with. After my last trip with American Airlines, it looks like that won’t be changing anytime soon.

On a recent trip to San Francisco, we ventured north for a Napa Valley Wine Tour. The Napa Valley is just about an hour from San Francisco. A Napa Valley wine tour is just the kind of activity to while away a California day. Wineries can really do no wrong in my book. What better way to spend time with or making new friends, take in a little history, architecture, culture and art and then there’s great wine. What could be better than a Napa Valley wine tour?

The Westin St. Francis Hotel is probably not the hippest place to stay in San Francisco. If you are looking to meet the young and glamorous, this isn’t the place. The Westin St. Francis is filled with handsome men in suits, which isn’t necessarily terrible either, which makes me say yes to San Francisco’s Westin St. Francis Hotel.

My favorite Boston restaurant from the weekend was Scampo, hands down. Scampo is located in the Liberty Hotel, a fairly new Boston hot spot – an old jail that was converted to a luxury hotel. The hotel is modern with both touches of elegance and a jail-themed flair. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside, modern chic Italian. The waiters and patrons matched the atmosphere; Scampo is definitely a place for Boston’s young and beautiful.

The social media train has left the station, and we’ve all heard the statistics: Twitter has 75 million registered accounts, LinkedIn has over 50 million members worldwide, and 50% of Facebook users log in each day – 175 million people.

Whether or not you believe in global warming, it just makes sense to be respectful of the environment to preserve it for generations to come. Earlier this week I attended the Meeting Planners International (MPI) MidAmerica Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. One of my favorite breakouts, How to Get Affordable Local, Organic Foods for Your Meetings and Events by Greg Christian, was incredibly informative, and really got me excited about green travel, something I am very passionate about.

I’m a culture fanatic! I love to immerse myself in a destination’s culture and experience the richness of what it offers through its people, foods, arts, entertainment, shopping and sightseeing. You simply cannot appreciate a destination without understanding its culture. It seems the more cultures I learn about the more I learn about myself!

I’ll travel anywhere, anytime. Give me a days notice and I’m gone, ready to take on my next adventure.

My philosophy: My current position has me working in the performance-improvement industry where I scout out exotic destinations, rate the best hotels, discover new restaurants, try out different activities . . . it’s a blast. I like to jump in with both feet and experience life first-hand.

Life goal: To do what I’m doing now . . . travel to exotic places and continue to build my art collection. Right now, traveling the world is the biggest adventure this life has to offer.
