Karyn’s on Green is the newest (just opened last month!) of the Karyn’s Chicago vegetarian restaurants. After reading a good review by a non-vegetarian in Time Out! Chicago, an adventurous friend and I decided to give it a try.

If you are among the lucky and received a spa gift certificate for Valentine’s Day, here are a few spa tips that I have picked up from my journeys (and working with groups). You certainly don’t want to miss a minute of the spa experience! Spa 101

Spa treatments are a hot activity on incentive trips. In my experience, both men and women enjoy time at the spa. Spa treatments can also be one of the trickier parts of the program for incentive planners to manage – particularly if you have a large group. Too many times, appointments go unused, travel staff scrambles and money is wasted. Here is a list of negotiation tips, and tips in general for spa success:

We decided that no trip to Colorado would be complete without a fondue dinner. So, we booked a reservation at Der Fondue Chessel, a restaurant at the Keystone Ski Resort. It was definitely an amazing experience and one that I would recommend.

You know when you go on a trip, and it seems like there is one tiny little detail that everyone failed to mention to you? Well that little teeny tiny detail that I missed before the trip to Breckenridge was none other than the dangers of mountain sickness - also known as altitude sickness. The altitudeaffects everyone differently, and unfortunately for me, the extreme altitude in Breckenridge meant a little unpleasantness. So, I invite you to learn from my experience.

There are many activities in Breckenridge for those who are NOT a fan of skiing or snowboarding. While I do happen to love the slopes, my personal take is: a Breckenridge ski trip is not complete without a snowmobile tour. So, while you are researching Breckenridge accommodations, be sure to also include a Breckenridge snowmobile excursion. It is one of my all-time favorite activities. When booking your group, here are a few pointers:

My first Breckenridge ski vacation was a memorable experience; I loved the clean air, the beautiful mountains, skiing, Breckenridge lodging and all the fun activities that brought out the outdoorsy part of me. Because of this, I am going take a brief departure from blogging about group travel, and spend some time on Breckenridge as a whole. Here’s my experience with Breckenridge transportation: Air: via Frontier Airlines I loved:

The Uffizi. Formerly the head “office” of the Italian state, the Uffizi houses all the Renaissance paintings you can handle, including one of my personal favorites, The Birth of Venus by Botticelli. (I have the print hanging in my bedroom.) The Bargello. A smaller museum filled with sculptures from the master. My personal favorite is Michelangelo’s Bacchus, the god of wine, of course!

In an effort to not gain the typical winter pounds, I have been trying to eat healthier foods in the New Year. All of the oatmeal and vegetable dishes of late have gotten me thinking about the more indulgent foods I have enjoyed over the years. Here are my top five favorites from around the globe.

I’m a culture fanatic! I love to immerse myself in a destination’s culture and experience the richness of what it offers through its people, foods, arts, entertainment, shopping and sightseeing. You simply cannot appreciate a destination without understanding its culture. It seems the more cultures I learn about the more I learn about myself!

I’ll travel anywhere, anytime. Give me a days notice and I’m gone, ready to take on my next adventure.

My philosophy: My current position has me working in the performance-improvement industry where I scout out exotic destinations, rate the best hotels, discover new restaurants, try out different activities . . . it’s a blast. I like to jump in with both feet and experience life first-hand.

Life goal: To do what I’m doing now . . . travel to exotic places and continue to build my art collection. Right now, traveling the world is the biggest adventure this life has to offer.
