Under Water in Turks and Caicos

How frequently do you go snorkeling when visiting warm island destinations? Well, for me, I’d have to say my time spent in the water are few and far between, that is until recently.  Turks and Caicos is known to have some of the most beautiful water in the Caribbean, and has through the years received multiple awards for best beaches, honeymoon destination, best hotels as well as best diving location.  I have to agree on all accolades including best diving, or rather, best snorkeling.

The unfinished, soon to be fabulous, Ritz Molassses Reef
The water surrounding the islands of Turks and Caicos is some of the most clear, clean and beautiful water I have ever seen; you can easily look down to the ocean floor.  While visiting the island Providenciales I had the chance to go on a half day boating and snorkeling event to the deserted West Caicos, home of the stunning and unfinished Ritz-Carlton Molasses Reef. In West Caicos there is so much wild life and stunning scenery to see. My favorite adrenaline rush was the 15 foot cliffs to jump off!  While snorkeling I got to see numerous tropical fish, a starfish and even an eagle ray.  Snorkeling is such a peaceful and relaxing activity I can’t wait to do it again.

Cliffs for jumping off of!
If snorkeling is not your thing enjoy the scenery from the boat or get off and explore the islands beaches, old plantation ruins or the bird life on Lake Catherine.

Where is your favorite place to snorkel?
