OVERVIEW

Things to do in Turks & Caicos

Surrounded by secluded powdery white-sand beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters and 1,000 square miles of colorful coral reef, the islands of Turks & Caicos in the British West Indies present the warm embrace of colorful beauty that makes the island a unique tropical paradise.

With its wide blue sky and comfortable, soothing climate, the islands’ breathtaking scenery and unique activities provide so many fascinating options that travel groups will want to visit the islands again and again. The islands’ landscape varies from sand dunes to lush green woodlands to inland marshes, all of which provide excellent feeding grounds for great blue herons, flamingos, osprey, pelicans and iguanas.

Two huge limestone plateaus provide deep offshore waters that serve as transit points for humpback whales, eagle rays, manta rays and sea turtles. The coral reefs, teeming with marine life, have been ranked as one of the top 15 most popular dive destinations by Rodale’s Scuba Diving magazine and the warm waters support a variety of beach activities. Snorkeling, fishing and scuba diving are just some of the water sports offered and on land there is tennis, golf, shopping, sightseeing and restaurants serving fresh fish and much more, all with a tropical twist.

The evening’s entertainment options include comfortable, friendly bars, nightclubs and high-energy casinos.

We're Just Saying

Under Water in Turks and Caicos

How frequently do you go snorkeling when visiting warm island destinations? Well, for me, I’d have to say my time spent in the water are few and far between, that is until recently.  Turks and Caicos is known to have some of the most beautiful water in the Caribbean, and has through the years received multiple awards for best beaches, honeymoon destination, best hotels as well as best diving location.  I have to agree on all accolades including best diving, or rather, best snorkeling.

If you’re looking for a great escape, then Turks and Caicos is the place to be. Showcasing different local talents and the unique culture and music of this place, their Annual Music and Cultural Festival is filled with exciting treat for people from different walks of life.  Soothing music along with  conch salad brings me closer to heaven! The place is just so serene and clean.  You could even go island hopping and explore the sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. Chosen as one of the best destinations in the world, I won’t be surprised that some of the most famous celebrities flock in here.

Smith’s Reef is likely where you’ll want to start if you’re looking for things to do in Turks and Caicos.  There’s some unforgettable scenery and a lot to see in the water if you go snorkeling.  Kite boarding is also a blast.  Be sure to check out Kiteprovo.com for more information.  Bight Reef is another good location!
