Top 5 Reasons to Visit Aruba
Byline by Jennifer Brown
Aruba is one of the top destinations for people looking to escape reality and instead spend time in a picturesque setting. Aruba all inclusive vacations all include magnificent views of the clear blue ocean and beach (at no extra charge). After spending years on the island (as both a tourist and resident), I have compiled the top 5 reasons to visit the island:
1. Beaches can be found along both coasts in Aruba. They run the gamut from completely tranquil to a place for water adventures, so are perfect no matter what kind of vacation you are looking for!
Beaches around the windward coast tend to be more secluded, and are perfect if you are looking for some private relaxation time. Limestone carved coves and inlets caused by waves make for some amazing views. Beaches along the west coast are within a seven-mile strip and filled with Aruba resort facilities and tourists. Swimming, waterskiing, banana-boating and snorkeling are just some of the activities on Aruba beaches.
2. Friendly people in Aruba are unlike anywhere else you will ever visit. The islands slogan is “90,000 friends you haven’t met yet”, and it is obvious why. Whether you are asking for assistance, or just in the mood for an interesting conversation, you will find a friendly local to help you out.
3. Natural wonders in Aruba are so numerous they can be found in almost any city on the island. My favorite natural wonder is Arikok National Park. Three diverse geological formations make up the land area in the park – lava, quart diorite and limestone. These formations result in the park being filled with unique views, rock formations, wildlife and animals that cannot be found anywhere else in the world.

4. Aruba nightlife is always happening, and an exciting element to Aruba’s persona of a serene desert island. Aruba has made a tradition of conducting weekly managers’ cocktail parties and daily happy hour specials. Bars on the pier and beach are casual places where tourists and locals mingle.
5. Shopping in Aruba is unique because prices average 10-35% cheaper than in the United States, and the island is still stocked with name brand quality products.
