#TNI Daily Craving: Highest elevation you've ever visited?

Interesting question - would it be trite to say in an aeroplane? ;-)

Having a great fondness of mountains my high point has to be in the Himalayas, about 5400m up a mountain called the Mardi Himal. Stunning place to be and would dearly love to go back again one day. 2500 to 3000m seems to be an average for me, which is high enough. This height is well served when ski ing in the Alps, I'm climbed Mt Rysy in Poland at 2503m, along with Coma Pedroso 2950m in the Pyrenees and the Wildstrubel, 3243m, in Switzerland. Such a delight. Get high and walk. That's what I say.

Thanks for the daily craving - now I am registered hopefully I'll comment a little more often!

Very good point regarding the airplane :)

I am absolutely petrified of heights,so this is not my strong point...no climbing Mt Everest for me.  In my 20s, I skiied occasionally which is probably as high as it gets...Gstaad, Steamboat Springs or Tahoe...don't know which is highest.
