So I only had seven hours to spend in the beautiful city of Boston, MA, which made it a very quick tour of Boston. Thanks to great suggestions from @adventurouskate and @theexplorateur, I hit up nearly every suggested place and had a great walking tour of Boston getting to sample the restaurants, Boston’s great brews, landmarks and historic places.

I recently had an opportunity to take a group for a stay at the Pelican Hill Resort and Golf Club. Here are my top ten reasons that make The Resort at Pelican Hill and Golf Club a great choice for a group or individual stay.

Located about 45 minutes north of the Kona International Airport in Keahole, The Mauna Lani Bay Hotel was a great group hotel! It’s a quick, easy drive from the airport on the same road as the Iron Man competition takes place. The road is not quite what you would expect of Hawaii; it’s all black lava rock but scattered with white coral. A lot of people write messages or logos with the coral; a fun way to literally leave your mark in Hawaii.

How much can you do in 72 hours in a city you have never been to before?  A lot! @ZipSetRachel and I flew out of our home city bright and early Friday morning to get into Boston by 10:00 AM to be able to have a full day of touring and sightseeing before our event Friday night  - We hit the ground running!

Finally the sun was out; it was warm, perfect for walking around. Our cab driver dropped us off by the history museum and the University of Texas Art Museum; not what we originally requested but turned out to work better than we had planned. After snapping a few pictures in front of the star at the history museum we headed to the Texas Capitol Building; snapped a few photos, checked out the building, walked up the stairs, saw the house and senate rooms.

After reading through the Austin article in Hemisphere’s I was ready to hit the city. First stop was breakfast on South Congress. We tried the local restaurant chain Magnolia; which on the far south end of the shopping area, making it a great walk from one end of SoCo to the other.

Before I go to a new place I try to research merchandise that is unique to that destination. Whether it’s food, wine, jewelry, clothes or coffee, each place offers merchandise that will keep your memories alive long after you return home.
