Just because you are on a budget doesn’t mean you have to go hungry in San Francisco! There are great restaurants everywhere and in every price range; my favorite dinner spot and quick-lunch venues are both affordable and delicious.
So I only had seven hours to spend in the beautiful city of Boston, MA, which made it a very quick tour of Boston. Thanks to great suggestions from @adventurouskate and @theexplorateur, I hit up nearly every suggested place and had a great walking tour of Boston getting to sample the restaurants, Boston’s great brews, landmarks and historic places.
I was a little skeptical when a good friend of mine called and suggested we head down to Biloxi, Mississippi, for some gambling and the New Orleans Jazz Festival. Well, even though I was skeptical, I have never had a bad time in the “Big Easy,” and I had never been to Biloxi so, why not….? I packed my bags and headed out the door – short notice, but I am always ready to hit the road!
How much can you do in 72 hours in a city you have never been to before?A lot! @ZipSetRachel and I flew out of our home city bright and early Friday morning to get into Boston by 10:00 AM to be able to have a full day of touring and sightseeing before our event Friday night- We hit the ground running!
Talk about trendy restaurants! Each with a unique and intriguing title, I wanted to try them all. But let me tell you, the phrase “everything’s bigger in Texas” really IS true and applies to the portion sizes. A few great restaurants I tried while in the Domain:

My favorite Boston restaurant from the weekend was Scampo, hands down. Scampo is located in the Liberty Hotel, a fairly new Boston hot spot – an old jail that was converted to a luxury hotel. The hotel is modern with both touches of elegance and a jail-themed flair. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside, modern chic Italian. The waiters and patrons matched the atmosphere; Scampo is definitely a place for Boston’s young and beautiful.
Although I spent less than 48 hours in Rhode Island, my family and I found delicious dining around Newport.
