My beautiful hometown! I could go on forever with recommendations, so I will try my best to limit it. This city offers such an amazing blend of cultures, reflected in a top-notch bar and restaurant scene offering everything from Greek to Thai food, and always authentic. A great tip is to avoid the tourist trap of a $20 ticket to the top of the Space Needle. Instead head to Columbia Tower (the tallest building on the west coast!) and pay around $5 for a breath-taking panoramic view of the Emerald City. Rent a row-boat or canoe at the UW Waterfront Activites Center for $8.50 an hour and go out on the gorgeous Lake Washington. Seattle is such an outdoors-oriented place surrounded by water and mountains, and summer is the ideal time to visit. The rest of the year can be gray and cloudy, though the rain isn't as bad as the rumor says it is.
