Say Yes to San Francisco’s Westin St. Francis Hotel

The Westin St. Francis Hotel is probably not the hippest place to stay in San Francisco. If you are looking to meet the young and glamorous, this isn’t the place. The Westin St. Francis is filled with handsome men in suits, which isn’t necessarily terrible either, which makes me say yes to San Francisco’s Westin St. Francis Hotel.

 Westin St. Francis History

If you are into history, the Westin St. Francis has a pretty cool story. The phrase “Meet me at the clock tower” originated here, referring to the massive wooden clock in the lobby of the Westin St. Francis that made an easy landmark for meet-ups and they still polish all silver coins, a tradition started to protect women’s white gloves in the 1930s. The San Francisco Westin St. Francis’s website has even more stories.

San Francisco's Intercontiental Mark Hopkins Hotel Disappointing

I did stop at the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins, just for the view from the penthouse bar. It definitely left a lot to be desired. The view was great, but the bar itself smelled nasty and overall it was outdated, overpriced and my martini wasn’t even good. Just say no to the Mark Hopkins!
