Things to do in San Diego
OVERVIEW
Things to do in San Diego
Known for its near-idyllic climate, 70 miles of pristine beaches and dazzling array of world-class attractions, San Diego covers roughly 400 square miles of land and sea. This rapidly growing city area extends from the beautiful coastline to mile-high mountains and even points near sea level in the desert.
Despite its immense size and spread, central San Diego is delightfully urban and accessible. Guests can catch the trolley or take the bus to a variety of famous attractions including the Balboa Park museums, San Diego Zoo, Old Globe Theater, Mission Bay Park, Qualcomm Stadium, SeaWorld and LEGOLAND® California. Downtown visitors can comfortably walk through other portions of the city and explore the trendy Gaslamp District or whimsical Horton Plaza or dine at one of 6,400 eating establishments located in the city.
Guests will find reminders of San Diego’s Spanish and Mexican heritage throughout the region in architecture, cuisine and place names. Without question, San Diego offers one of the warmest and most appealing vacation destinations in the United States. As guests explore, they’ll agree with most locals that this corner of California is true paradise.

My favorite restaurant of all time is called Confidential - and it's in the heart of the Gaslamp in downtown San Diego. It's a really cool tapas bar so small plates but it's very worth it. They change up some of the menu items pretty frequently but the core selections are always there. An awesome lobster bisque (with some cool vanilla flavor), steak skewers marinated in port wine and a gorgonzola cheese fondue, potato tacos (can't have a restaurant in SD without Tacos!), and an amazing portobello salad which I have tried to recreate a million times at home but it never tastes the same. They have happy hour from 5-7 or something like that when everything on the menu is half price! Even the drinks - which I didn't even mention but those are great too.
