Running the Waves in Tahiti
There’s so much to do in Tahiti and circling the island on a jet ski has to be one of the most exhilarating
of them all. Just imagine … the sun beating down on you, the wind in your hair and the salt water
spraying up at you; what could be better?
I did this activity with a group of five other guests along with our instructor. After our safety briefing,
we received our equipment and off we set out into the deep blue sea. It was amazing; I was able to
see the entire island including those cute little over the water bungalows that you always see in the
pictures! By the way, they’re a lot bigger up close than they appear in the photographs. As I was
cruising around the island, I ran into a huge mannaray (not literally, of course)! It must have been the
size of a queen-size bed. Seriously! It was huge.
At some point in our activity, we stopped on the beach for lunch and our guide showed us how to
crack coconuts and drink the milk from them. Yummy! We also enjoyed fresh fruit including pineapple,
baby bananas and green grapefruit. When we finished lunch, we soaked up some sun, and then we
jumped back on our jet skis and headed for back. All in all, it was a perfect day.
