OVERVIEW

Things to do in Pebble Beach

Accessible by the spectacular 17-Mile Drive, Pebble Beach provides one of the most scenic settings for golf and recreation in the world and is a small coastal destination. With its famous championship golf courses, it is hailed as a mecca for golfers. Pebble Beach hosts a variety of world-class golf tournaments, including the U.S. Open and the annual AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am. Its stunning coastline includes Cypress Rock, Bird Rock and the Lone Cypress, one of the most photographed landmarks on the California coast.

The Monterey Peninsula is also home to some of the best shopping and dining in all of California. Pebble Beach is located on the tip of the peninsula between Pacific Grove and Carmel-by-the-Sea.  The community has 4,531 residents and is relatively affluent, home to many retirees and well-educated workers in the social service (education and health care), management and finance sectors.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Carmel Valley Ranch.  Because of their outstanding breath- taking location, they have the ingredients to create truly unique experiences for their guest. It’s a beautiful resort reinventing itself in a way that takes them back to their roots.

Glass Fusion and Pebble Beach Resort - A Winning Combination!
by April on Sep 19, 2011

I have been trying to tap into my artistic side in 2011 and have been taking classes at a local gallery with my daughter who is a bright young artist – unlike her mother! We have been taking glass mosaic, painting, pottery courses and I have found that I love to work and create with glass.

On my recent Pacific Coast Highway roadtrip, I made a brief stop in the quaint little town of Carmel-by-the-Sea. This luxurious area, filled with boutique shops, high-end galleries and incredible dining, is frequented by rich and famous from around the globe and has been written about ad nauseum by journalists and bloggers alike.

Wine Tasting - Carmel Valley
by Sara Beth on Jul 06, 2011

In all the times I have traveled to Pebble Beach, I’ve never had a chance to visit “the valley”, as the locals call it. On my last trip, I finally made the half hour drive to the quaint town of Carmel Valley and let me tell you it’s like a sea of tasting rooms - one after another with both local and large name vendors.

Making Waves in Pebble Beach
by Sara Beth on Oct 29, 2009
File under: Pebble Beach, California

California in July; I was so pumped! The warm sun, the Pacific Ocean … man was I wrong. Pebble Beach … foggy, overcast and cold! I never would have thought of the weather in a top golf destination; but what a beautiful property and attentive staff at the Lodge at Pebble Beach. I felt like I was vacationing in a neighborhood or a community because of the layout of the property. Everything was spread out, but so quiet and peaceful.

Pebble Beach is exactly what you’d expect from California.  It’s especially nice if you like to play golf.  There are numerous golf courses to choose from located right by the ocean.  Honestly golfing is the one thing you should probably intend on doing in Pebble Beach.  A relaxing location overall – depending on how well you play!  Has ever played at Spyglass Hill Golf Course?  I had my first ever birdie on a par 5!
