Oh Canada - Whistler

I love Canada. Absolutely adore it! And it’s no secret to anyone who knows me. I’ve visited much of the country, and believe me, there’s so much diversity in Canada you simply cannot get bored there. There are far too many areas across this great country spotted with incredible boutique properties and resorts that you can escape to. And then there’s Vancouver and the wildly popular Whistler. 

Vancouver is an upscale, cosmopolitan city that overlooks the ocean and is surrounded by the mountains. It is the perfect northwestern getaway destination. While here, I stayed at the Fairmont Waterfront, a location that takes advantage of all Vancouver has to offer, and there’s a lot: browse a museum, go shopping and dine in any of the great restaurants.

The ride from Vancouver to Whistler is a simple transfer via the Sea to Sky Highway, and it is a stunning experience … plus it’s fun to let someone else do the driving; you can soak up all the spectacular scenery along the way.

I’ve been to Whistler in both the winter and the summer and found the place equally appealing. There’s so much to do in either season; you will not be bored. In the winter, you’ve got all of your snow activities: skiing, snowboarding, tubing and so on. But in the summer, you’ve got zip lining, golfing, biking, hiking, kayaking … the list goes on and on. Two great property options to stay at: the Four Seasons Whistler and the Fairmont Whistler. Both are exceptional; I’ve stayed at both and highly recommend either one.

So when you’re planning your next travel adventure, try Canada. There’s so much to do beyond our border. Take advantage of it.
