Quick Trip Down the Vegas Strip

Quick Trip Down the Vegas Strip

There’s so much to see and do in Las Vegas that it’s easy to get overwhelmed if you don’t have a plan. I found that one of the best things to do as soon as you arrive is to take stock of the strip to find out what’s there and decide what you want to do right away.

With map in hand, here’s my hit list:

  • Palazzo – This was the starting point. I walked around the entire hotel, checking out the shops, walking through the casino and taking lots of pictures. Gorgeous.
  • Venetian – A must-see. I could have spent the entire afternoon walking through the Grand Canal Shoppes; it’s amazing how much they have packed into that hotel! Every room is a suite. They even have gondolas you can ride.
  • Mirage – Another hotel that is packed with an unbelievable amount of stuff to see, including a large aquarium filled with tropical fish and a volcano. They also have dolphin habitat and rainforest exhibits.
  • Caesar’s Palace – This hotel seemed to go on forever. I made a stop at Serendipity 3 for a bite to eat. Delicious.
  • Bellagio – Upscale and elegant, but pretty much the same as all the other hotel-casino type places on the Strip. The Fountain Bar and Lounge overlooks the fountains out front. I didn’t spend as much time here as I did the other places.
  • Paris – This is another must-see, even if you only have time for a walk-through. It’s much smaller than most of the other hotel-casinos, but the painted clouds on the ceiling made it feel like it was daytime no matter the hour.
  • New York New York – I loved the roller coaster at night; it went a lot faster and was a lot scarier than I anticipated. Be sure to allow plenty of time for the line and wear comfy shoes because if the line is long, your feet will begin to hurt standing on the concrete. Coyote Ugly is also located here.
