Admittedly, I do not often fly American Airlines because I prefer other airlines that I have frequent flyers accounts with. After my last trip with American Airlines, it looks like that won’t be changing anytime soon.
Flight Delays - The New Normal
After being delayed, running to my connection and being delayed again, I was already a little disappointed but hey – that’s standard for air travel. When my bag wasn’t showing up at my home airport, I wasn’t surprised; if I have to run to get a plane, I know that my luggage isn’t going to make it. I did, however, expect to get it the next morning, as the baggage office told me I would. This was fine with me, although inconvenient because I was leaving for Chicago the very next morning.
Luggage Disaster
I am now on day FIVE of my luggage disaster. I have called American Airlines baggage claims about five times a day (minimum) for the past five days. Why are you stalking them, you say? Well, for one thing, my bag has supposedly been on about four flights, all of which have never surfaced. The airline asks that you call for updates in another two hours, which turns into another call in another two hours ... you get where this is going.
My bag has been everywhere from San Francisco, Dallas, Chicago to wherever Fayetteville is, depending on who I talk to. It was delayed in Dallas for a few days, until they figured out that it was still in San Francisco with a missing tag (how does that thing even come off!?).
Where's American Airlines' Customer Service?
My solution? Go to the airport and talk to someone in person. Cross your fingers – and if you don’t believe me, just ask Go-Girl Sara Beth about her American Airlines’ debacle …
What is the longest time you have had a lost bag? How did you get it back?
