Sir Seretse Khama International Airport is located 9 miles north of Gaborone and is the main international airport for the capital city of Botswana. The airport comprised of one passenger terminal and one cargo shed is named for Sir Seretse Khama the first president of Botswana. Service is offered by Air Botswana, South African Airways Express Charter Operators: KASAC, NAC and Flying Mission Services. Seretse Khama airport is a small airport encompassing a bank, a post office, 3 car rental companies, 2 snack bars and 2 shops. The government has started a $61 million expansion plan to further develop the airport to accommodate increased traffic and larger planes.
