The Zip Line, V. 2.10, June, 2010 - Year-Round Wonders

Year-Round Wonders
June brings nearly perfect weather to most of the U.S., but there are plenty of places in the world with balmy breezes and sunshine year-round. Although it’s hard to believe in the middle of a treacherous Midwestern winter, there are a plethora of vacation “hot spots” just waiting to be explored: sunny Southern California, lucky Las Vegas, the beautiful Bahamas ... This issue’s focus is on the eternal year-round travel favorite: Hawaii.

Featured Destination
Maui, Hawaii
Check weather.com any time of the year before visiting Hawaii, and you’re likely to get the same forecast: sunny and in the mid 80s. This consistently good weather – along with magnificent beaches and dramatic scenery – makes Maui our number one pick as a year-round vacation venue.

Lush Maui’s tropical sun, surf and sports activities have gained the island an international reputation as a paradise on earth. In laid-back Hana on the eastern shore, travel groups can experience what the Hawaiian Islands were like before the advent of T-shirt tourism. Western Maui’s gorgeous “Golf Coast” resorts draw eager beginners and pros while shoppers head for the old whaling town of Lahaina. No matter what the preference, Maui magically weaves a spell over the two million travelers who flock to its shores each year and leave wanting more.

The Hyatt Regency Maui is a fabulous hotel. Love the pools, the slides, the little bar in the cave! I had the most relaxing and enjoyable stay there a couple years ago (and, way back when as a teen, when traveling with my folks). Definitely make time for a visit to the Spa. So worth the expense. The on-site gym is really good, too. Nice equipment. Am already thinking about visiting again this winter! It's the only place we'll stay.
