Passport Newsletter, V.2.5 March 2010 - Spring into Sun & Fun Travel

Spring into Sun & Fun Travel
Spring is just around the corner, and March Madness brings out the best in the sun & fun traveler. Spurred by memories of college spring breaks at the beach, the grownup sun & fun traveler is ready for fun in a tropical venue near the water. Pool, ocean, lake – it doesn’t really matter as long as the weather’s hot and the drinks are chilled. From relaxing in a cabana stocked with liquid refreshments to playing a friendly game of bikini beach volleyball – this traveler is ready to make a splash. Water sports are a must – the sun & fun traveler likes to kick up waves on a jet ski, snorkel or scuba amid amazing sea life and parasail far above the ocean blue. Not ready to call it a day? This traveler also enjoys deep sea fishing, tanning on a kayak or simply resting with a drink in hand by the pool.

    Featured Destination
    Riviera Maya, Mexico

The Riviera Maya is the stuff dreams are made of for the sun & fun traveler. Located on the eastern coast of Mexico on the Yucatan Peninsula, Riviera Maya is a laid-back Mexican vacation oasis. The serene strands of beach will make even the most seasoned beach buffs feel as if they are on their own deserted island. And there are an abundance of activities in Riviera Maya: Scuba diving on the Great Maya Reef, the second-largest reef in the world, is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Cavern diving in the region’s underground rivers is a spectacular activity, as are day trips to the Mayan ruins. But we’ll bet basking on the white sand beach where the water’s warm and the drinks are frosty cold is a favorite of the sun & fun traveler.

Nights on Riviera Maya can be quiet, romantic evenings or wild and sizzling nights on the town. Themed parties with live entertainment and disco bars where travelers can dance the night away can be found in this Mexican paradise.
