OVERVIEW

Things to do in Miami

Perched on the sun-kissed southernmost tip of Miami Beach, South Beach epitomizes the perfect visual appeal of the area. It is where the bronzed and the beautiful work, play, shop and let loose. Stately palms sway over a world of deco delight. South Beach boasts the country’s greatest concentration of 1930’s Art Deco architecture in the world. Some 500 buildings have been painstakingly restored to their original glory with fluted columns and friezes in bright yellows, pinks and blues – a walking tour is an absolute must.

Many, however, are drawn to South Beach for the culture. The city is a melting pot of nationalities. It is an international playground offering not only non-stop nightlife and sandy shores, but also unique style and sophistication. The Latin-American population has profoundly affected the area and the diversity of the community is readily apparent. Ocean Drive is the place where top celebrities flock to see and be seen.

Miami’s beautiful beach stretches up the Atlantic for miles and is perfect for early morning runs. The beach is also the best spot to view the city lights at night. The American Riviera, Hollywood of the East, SoBe or the Art Deco District – whatever you call it – Miami’s South Beach is hot year-round.
