  • Great lift into Las Vegas with more than 900 domestic and international flights daily
  • Lots of great dining options - from all-you-can-eat buffets to fine dining hot spots

  • Located in the desert, Las Vegas has terrific weather with more than 320 days of sunshine per year and an average temperature of 66 degrees.
  • Meeting space galore is available for groups of all sizes!
  • Plenty of things to do in Las Vegas

The Real Deal

  • On average, meetings have 13% higher attendence when held in Vegas
  • Transportation costs are lowered because many places are within walking distance on the Vegas strip.
  • You must be 21 to enter casinos, and smoking is permitted most places that food is not served
  • Vegas employs almost 250,000 resort industry employees and hosts more than 19,000 meetings, conventions and incentives annually.
  • Things get extra crazy in Vegas around holidays associated with long weekends, boxing matches or the National Finals Rodeo. During these times, or if a large convention is in town, accomodation prices will be higher.
  • Although Vegas was made for adults, entertainment options have divisified and it's easy to find family friendly options. Just remember that children under 18 are not allowed out after 9pm with out an adult

OVERVIEW

Things to do in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is a true original; there is nothing like it in America or anywhere in the world! In other cities, hotels are built near major attractions. In Las Vegas, hotels are the major attractions. A view down the famous Las Vegas Strip uncovers a skyline accented by a Statue of Liberty, a giant lion, a pyramid, a sphinx and a series of sparkling buildings. Inside, the fantasy continues as travel groups may wander through replicated sites such as Paris, Venice, New York and ancient Egypt.

The largest city in Nevada, as well as the largest U.S. city founded in the 20th century, Las Vegas is 2,030 feet above sea level and surrounded by the Mojave Desert. The beginnings of modern Las Vegas can be traced back to 1829 when Antonio Armijo led a party of 60 on the Old Spanish Trail between Santa Fe and Los Angeles and discovered an oasis. They named the oasis Las Vegas, Spanish for “the meadows.”

This “Entertainment Capital of the World” welcomes 35 million travel guests a year. Travel groups enjoy luxurious hotels, unique shopping venues, dazzling Vegas shows, first-rate restaurants and, of course, world-class casinos.

When the shimmer of the city isn’t enough, Las Vegas has much more to offer. The Mojave Desert creates a stark contrast between the glamour and glitter of Las Vegas and the desolate yet ecologically diverse environment. Nearby is Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Red Rock Canyon and some of the best desert golf courses in the U.S; all providing phenomenal group travel tours.

Over the years the city has carved a secure niche for itself as a destination for national and international tourists along with being a top destination for group travel programs. It is a popular winter sojourn, an exciting weekend getaway and a convention mecca. Las Vegas has expanded at a ferocious pace for the past 10 years, during which more than 60,000 hotel rooms and a half-million residents have been added to the city.

When Las Vegas is all lit up at night ... well, even those who have lived there for years agree there is nothing like the sight of the Strip in all its evening glory.

Glamorous Grand Canyon
by Rachel on Dec 12, 2011

My travel bucket list contains mostly international treasures, but there has always been one domestic wonder I’ve always wanted to see; The Grand Canyon. So when we first decided to go to Vegas, my only request was not a club, a show, or time to gamble, it was of course the Grand Canyon! Since the Vegas trip was only a few days, viewing the Canyon by helicopter seemed like the best option.

It’s not you; it’s me, Venetian Las Vegas
by Rachel on Dec 13, 2011

Before I go any further, I will admit that I am not a gambler, and don’t really have any use for clubs these days. I love really healthy food, and local specialties. So right off the bat, I am not The Venetian Las Vegas' normal customer. I may also be a customer service connoisseur. Whew. Now that that’s off my chest….

File under: Las Vegas, Nevada

You know the ZipSetGo.com saying Experience the World, Share the World….. So when I went to Vegas last week I couldn’t believe the people who never see daylight once they arrive. This post is dedicated to them! Don’t sit inside all day and night in a casino when visiting Vegas - get out and explore! When I was in Vegas last week I did something I had never done before, I took a helicopter from the strip, landed inside the Grand Canyon for lunch and then flew back. It was a...

Viva Las Vegas - Viva Elvis Cirque du Soleil Show
by April on Mar 01, 2010
File under: Las Vegas, Nevada

One of the things I like to do when I go to Las Vegas is treat myself to a show! Some people love it and some hate to think they are missing casino time to sit and watch another Cirque show – but I LOVE IT!

Great shopping and fine dining are just some of the best things to enjoy in Las Vegas. I’m sure it’s world-renowned for its casinos but there’s more than just gambling in Las Vegas.  This city never sleeps and the fun never stops! There are museums, parks and other recreational centers to choose from. World-class hotels provide exceptional accommodation and you won’t have any problem transferring to different locations because there are several modes of transportation.
