Things to do in Lana'i
- Simply put . . . we love Lana'i!
- It's a slice of heaven on earth, especially for the busy person looking for the ultimate getaway!
- Lana'i has a very exclusive feel; it can feel like it's your own private island!
- A true drop out location - great for family programs
- The Four Seasons sister properties, Manele Bay paired with the Lodge at Koele, are nothing short of amazing! Like most great resorts, they have superb restaurants and fun bars!
- Outstanding water and beach activites, hiking and snorkeling
- Challenging golf, with two very diverse courses!
- Easy to get from one place to another, since there is very little traffic!
- Ideal for split with Maui for a high-end experience! Use a catamaran snorkel sail to transfer guests between islands
The Real Deal
- The Four Seasons properties are the only gigs in town for nightlife!
- Outside of Four Seasons', it would be fair to say there simply is no nightlife on the island. We mean as in none . . . nada . . . nonexistent
- If you have a younger or super active group looking for nightlife, they will go stir crazy!
- As the planner, expect to offer excursions to Maui with night transports back to Lanai which can be a hassle (for you and your group)
- It can be costly to bring premium for decor and entertainment to the island
- Large group movements could be challenging due to limited flights service to Lana'i
- To get a real sense of the island, rent a four-wheel-drive vehicle and experience everything Lana'i has to offer
- Hawaii does not observe Daylight Savings Time, so add one extra hour to the time difference during this period (March - November)
OVERVIEW
Things to do in Lana'i
Lana’i is Hawaii’s most enticing island . . . a place where relaxation is always accompanied by the pleasures of the good life. The third smallest of the major Hawaiian Islands, Lana’i hosts a breathtaking expanse of forest surrounded by secluded white-sand beaches and rugged red lava cliffs. The island is approximately 13 miles wide and 18 miles long, with ground elevations varying from sea level to more than 3,400 feet.
This charming island is home to just over 3,000 people, making it the perfect place for rest, relaxation, rejuvenation and fun. It's warm, friendly residents welcome visitors with hospitality and down-to-earth charm. From beautiful Manele Bay to the bumpy road and scenic views of the Munro Trail, guests will discover a wide range of activities, including golf on two challenging courses and snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters at Hulopo’e Beach.
Opportunities to explore Lana’i’s natural environment, culture and history are around every turn. Hiking to the island’s highest point – Lanai’hale – affords a view of Lana’i and five other islands. A place of deep cultural significance, Lana’i boasts many historical sites, old fishing villages and unique topographical features like the boulder-strewn Keahikawelo. In the center of the island, Lana’i City features lovingly restored landmarks, including the delightful Lana’i Playhouse and Theater and the charming Hotel Lana’i, both dating from the 1920s.

Comments
Lanai is a great island for those who are really looking for an escape. You need to know though, it is very small and meant for laying around or playing golf - it does NOT offer the shopping/dining experiences that a Maui does. 3 nights in combination with Maui for 3 or 4 makes a great program.
