OVERVIEW
Things to do in South Africa
A South Africa must see is Sabi Sands Reserve. Located next to the Kruger National Park, Sabi Sands is considered one of the best destinations in Africa to view the “Big Five” elephant, rhino, leopard, lion and buffalo. But those are not the only animals visitors will see. Giraffe, cheetah, hyenas, zebras and over 500 species of birds call this African countryside home. This oasis for wildlife features a plethora of surprises for all who visit.
Imagine waking up as the early morning sun rises over the African horizon. Guests start their adventure by accompanying rangers and trackers into the African bushveld. One can sense the excitement… who knows what to expect? A herd of ever-cautious impala huddled together, a leopard in the branches of a knobthorn tree with a kill from the last hours of darkness, a herd of elephant feeding in the lush vegetation or a pride of lion in the shade of an acacia. The sound of creatures awakening to a new day stirs participants’ passion for Africa and its many wonders.
Or if the night better suits guests, then envision a vivid sunset sky forming the backdrop of an unforgettable wildlife experience. As darkness approaches, the animals become more active, rarely seen nocturnal creatures emerge and incredible interactions are the order of the day. Pause midway for drinks and conversation as the sun disappears at one of the many vantage points hidden in the bush. The lions stir from their slumber to begin the night's hunt and the leopard slinks through the long grass in the twilight. The evening drive is the apex of the African adventure, moments that will define forever guests’ memories of Africa.
However guests decide to spend their days in this natural wonder, they are sure to be left with a memorable experience and a love for South Africa.
