Wow, talk about a great conference and meeting hotel. I went to this Marriott in Los Angeles a few weeks back, it’s a new property, opening in February 2010 and seems to be well on its way to being a well-established hotel. While staying at L.A. Live, I experienced very few hic-ups as compared to a recent visit to the The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, Orlando.
My overall thoughts on the JW Marriott - L.A. Live Hotel:
- It may be new, but the staff is well-trained and willing to assist
- The rooms were
- Very spacious
- Great views of the city
- The bedding is comfortable
- The alarm, an ipod dock, is easy to use
- Nice lighting in the bathrooms and throughout the room
- Meeting Space was
- Large with high ceilings – three ballrooms in total
- Levels are split – which is a little confusing a first, but designed this way because of the large ballrooms
- Ballroom foyer areas have multiple service uses – great place for meeting breaks but also elegant enough for an evening cocktail reception or dinner
Overall, I would visit the JW Marriott in downtown Los Angeles again (or maybe its sister hotel, located above – The Ritz Carlton). As you know, I do love being in the city! There was so much to do and see – great restaurants and museums/attractions in walking distance.
