How to Indulge in Mexico - Marquis Los Cabos
The Marquis Los Cabos came with big expectations. Everyone I spoke to raved about the property, and these were people that traveled the world staying in lux accommodations. Now that I have experienced the Marquis, I have to say I am going to be raving about it as well. Not only was the property beautiful and well-maintained, but it had a sense of ‘invisible hospitality’. Service that isn’t flashy, just thoughtful. Our theme of the week was mini-indulgences – so here is how the Marquis let me indulge:
My arrival to Los Cabos was seamless, someone was waiting pick me up, handled my luggage and drove me straight to the gated Marquis Los Cabos. The lobby is a stunning arch with gorgeous mountain and ocean views. I was whisked to the front desk where I was immediately handed a margarita, and checked in without waiting a minute.
The Marquis is gorgeous at night. Check out some of the Casitas - with pools of the roof!
That night the Marquis threw a celebratory dinner for all the bloggers, and the theme was mini indulgences. The Marquis spoiled us with 6 courses of mini entrees from their most upscale restaurant. The only problem was I didn’t think I had to tell the hotel ahead of time I was vegetarian. I whispered to one of the waiters and – voila! On the spot menu change-up, 6 course vegetarian small plates! No hassle and my food was delicious, and just as elegantly plated as the rest of the menu
Although I definitely relaxed, I did have to catch up on work a bit. I don’t think I have ever packed the right electronics AND the cords to match. This trip I happen to have left behind my computer cord. Luckily my personal butler Eduardo found me at the pool, offered to try cords on my computer which was in my room. When he didn’t find a match, he sent a computer to my room and had it hooked up and ready to go when I got back from the pool. The Marquis has free wifi in public places, and I could also pick it up in my room as well. Swoon.
Our favorite poolside spot. Is there anything better than falling asleep to the sound of waves?
When I did have down time (which let’s be honest, was quite a bit) I relaxed at the seemingly private pool. The resort has a great beach, with crashing waves, but it has even better pools. To top it off, fabulous poolside service, including books, drinks, and food. I spent as much time lounging in the sun as possible, a true indulgence.
Sometimes it’s the little things that really stick out. As guests joined Andrea and I for pre-dinner cocktails our last night at the hotel, waiters added seats and side tables to our seating arrangement in anticipation of more people coming. In addition to delicious margaritas, the bar severed crudités and
dip when you sat down. We had fabulous service at the hotel’s restaurant, and great food as well. When they were out of our favorite wine from the night before a sommelier was on hand to suggest what we might like.

The Marquis truly has every detail thought out, even in the rooms. My room was large, with a great bathroom including separate shower and toilet, and a fully stocked mini-bar. No cheap shampoo/conditioner combination here; I indulged all week in the Bulgari bathroom amenities, including while taking a dip in my garden tub. Every room has a breakfast nook, accessible from outside of the room. What is better than waking up to a (free) breakfast of fruit, assorted breads, and coffee? The hotel also has turndown service; one night I came in to find pink petals spelling out buenas noches on my bed. Plus, as I have stated before, I love it when hotels organize my hotel room, not just clean it, and that’s exactly what they did.
The biggest indulgence of all at the Marquis? A $1,000 tequila Popsicle – with gold flakes!
What an (indulgent) week!
