Go-Girl Takes to the Skies and Conquers It
Nothing stops me or gets in my way of doing what I want, and when it comes to adventure travel, I’m all in. My trip to New Zealand was no exception. To get the lay of the land, I took to the sky … by helicopter. There’s no better way to see everything that New Zealand has to offer, every peak and valley, every city, town and village, than by a helicopter. But be warned: This is not for the faint of
heart. Flying by helicopter is not the same as flying in a plane: helicopters are smaller and faster and they get extremely close to the landscape … so close you could touch it. But hey, I’m the adventurous Go-Girl, so what else would you expect, right? My helicopter trip over New Zealand was not only one of the most exciting things I’ve ever experienced, but also one of the scariest … in a good way.Our helicopter pilot careened ever so close to the ice-capped mountains that I thought we’d collide, but then he would quickly ascend right over top of them to find rolling green meadows. It was exhilarating! I have never felt anything like it in my life, and as the adventurous Go-Girl, I’ve done a lot. I felt my stomach fall straight to the bottom of my toes but I couldn’t look away because it was totally
breathtaking. Absolutely beautiful. I didn’t want to miss a thing! And you won’t either. We even landed on a glacier. You have got to try that at least once in your life!
When you travel to New Zealand, all of you thrill-seekers … and you know whoyou are … you HAVE to do this. But do your homework:
1) Check to make sure they have insurance.
2) Find out about their maintenance schedule. Don’t be afraid to ask.
3) Research their safety record.
4) Ask about the experience and certified training of their crew.
5) Will the helicopter pilot provide any narrative while flying?
6) What kind of audio system is provided for each passenger?
When you plan a trip to NZ, don’t miss out on the helicopter trip or you will absolutely, positively
regret it. Trust me on this. I know what I’m talking about.
