OVERVIEW
Things to do in Hampshire England
Dotted with seaside resorts and located on the sunny south coast of England, the countryside of the county of Hampshire is a verdant mix of woodlands with a dense mosaic of grassland that hosts diverse wildlife. Within its borders lies the New Forest National Park, protected as a national park with open areas that are home to domesticated cattle, horses and several species of wild deer. To the north of Hampshire lies the Southern England Chalk Formation of Salisbury Plain and South Downs, hills with steep slopes and downlands that support the growth of abundant wildflowers. The mild climate of Hampshire makes it ideal for outdoor activities such as horseback riding, skeet shooting, hiking, tennis and golf.
The Isle of Wight, located directly off the coast, is home to many attractions such as the island’s steam railway, the Thomson Local, where Victorian and Edwardian carriages are hauled by contemporary locomotives on a 10-mile roundtrip of the island. Guests can also visit Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House, once home to Queen Victoria, Needles Park, Ventnor Botanical Gardens or Shanklin Chine gorge with its dramatic waterfalls and nature trail.

I will never be too old for the Steam Railway in Hampshire, it always spells fun! The place is just peaceful and I really think it’s an ideal place to raise a family. St. Barbe Museum and gallery has some of the most fascinating displays for everyone. It’s really nice to have visited this country and I really hope we get to visit this place again some time this year.
