Go Picnic: The Adult Version of a Lunchable
Have you seen these in your airport? GoPicnic – the “ready-to-eat-meals” have come up with the adult version of my favorite childhoo
d lunch companion, lunchables. I have seen these in all the airports I’ve traveled through the past few months – Dayton, Atlanta, Charlotte, Los Angeles, Memphis, Minneapolis… you get my point – but all are in the HMS Host or similar type stores, usually close to the nuts or other bagged snacks.
So, on my first GoPicnic experience I tried the Turkey pepperoni + cheese, it was a good blend of protein and carbohydrates with a sweet finish. But you know what I found to like the most? Besides not needing a refrigerator - everything thing is individually wrapped, so what you don’t want now you can save for later. Other positives – low on calories and carbohydrates, a decent amount of protein and sugar; but as expected high in sodium and saturated fat – pepperoni will do that to you. Other selling points - the packaging; clearly indicates the ingredients and the food allergies as well as my favorite, the games and the funny food tips. All you need to do is add a stick of gum or a mint to the end. Overall a good meal option for those who need a quick snack when traveling domestically or abroad, I’ll be sure to buy them again.
