I recently rediscovered the property where my husband and I got married 10+ years ago.  At that time it was the Maui Prince, a beautiful resort located in Makena on the island of Maui.  The price was right - it was not the most well-known property on the island or a “luxury brand” with the glitz and glamour, which made it the perfect place for us!  What we loved about the hotel was...

Holidays are wonderful – you spend time with your family, eat way too much and run around like a chicken with its head cut off making sure everyone is “happy”!  Fun right?

Well, I thought I would recap some highlights of my Christmas season in three buckets – The Good – The Funny and the WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?  I encourage you to add to this post in under any category you would like and share holiday tales and photos.

Venice needs no introduction – the charm of the canals, the art and architecture – but what about the food?

I recently spent some time in Italy and one of my favorite trip quotes was from one of my travel mates: “Wow you have a good fork!” I can say without hesitation that I ate my way through Italy for two weeks. What better way to relive the delicious dining in Florence than to share some of my favorite Italitan restaurants recommendations, especially if Italy is on your radar for the coming year! My first stop on my Italian adventure was Florence.

I took some time out of my recent trip to California and spend time in Big Sur State Park and I am so glad I did!  I am still in awe of how beautiful the park was and how fresh and wonderful it smelled!

I did something in Vail I never thought I would do - EVER!  I hired a babysitter recommended from the concierge to watch my kids while we went out for dinner.  Typically when traveling with the kids we select hotels or resorts the offer Kids Clubs.  The oversight and activities provided in typical Kids Clubs are part of our vacation the kids talk about when we get home, this getaway turned out a little different.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Carmel Valley Ranch.  Because of their outstanding breath- taking location, they have the ingredients to create truly unique experiences for their guest. It’s a beautiful resort reinventing itself in a way that takes them back to their roots.

I have been trying to tap into my artistic side in 2011 and have been taking classes at a local gallery with my daughter who is a bright young artist – unlike her mother! We have been taking glass mosaic, painting, pottery courses and I have found that I love to work and create with glass.

In keeping with the Travelers’ Night In #TNI topic this week, Edible Travel, I thought I would share my fish taco sauce recipe. I love fish tacos and I order them almost exclusively while traveling to destinations where fresh fish is plucked out of the water in the early morning and is on your plate by lunch!

So you think you can keep up?  I’m ready to go any time, any place. You could say I’m an action-junkie. When you see us out, you’ll recognize me, I’m the one chatting to anyone and everyone, because you never know who you might run into. My philosophy: Life is an adventure! Live it. I‘m on the move . . . I like to do new things and push myself to new levels. I don’t sit on the sidelines to watch the game; I’m in it to win it! I've spent the last 20 years in the travel and tourism industry . . . it is what I know and love. My experience encompasses all aspects of travel from pre-sale to operations and registration to auditing . . . I have been there, seen it all and done it all. I have the vision to create innovative, high-end, high-impact incentive programs that deliver strong ROIs for my Fortune 500 clients. I demonstrate financial acumen through my negotiating skills, keen project management skills and in-depth understanding of program logistics. I have intimate knowledge of the ins and outs of the process. I know what hotels, destination management companies and venues expect, and what they will concede . . . it is all in how you ask the questions and willingness to collaborate for a win-win outcome. I serve on several industry advisory boards and attend industry events around the world to share knowledge and to stay “ahead of the curve.” My mantra: See the world. Make a difference. Leave things better than you found them.
