If you’re looking for a touristy hot spot in Bora Bora with live entertainment and a view, Bloody Mary’s is the place to go. It has a great laidback environment where you can take pictures and enjoy the island in its best form. And if you are into fresh seafood, well I don’t think you’ll find any fresher than here; their seafood is prepared right in front of you. The fish is laid out when you walk in; you select your cut and a few cooking minutes later it’s there as your meal.
I have to admit: I didn’t actually try the restaurant’s namesake drink there. Somehow, a Bloody Mary at 8:00 pm when it’s hot outside doesn’t really appeal to me. But the frozen beverages were delicious and the wine was very well paired with my meal.
Bloody Mary’s is a mecca for souvenir shoppers. With a gift shop full of T-shirts, cozies, hats, etc., it is a shopper’s paradise. And the wall of photos is very entertaining to look through.
All in all, I loved Bloody Mary’s and would go back in a heartbeat – great fresh food, drinks and entertainment with an outdoor setting, an entertaining place on a warm Tahitian night.
Just one word of warning: After dinner when you’re heading back to your hotel or boat, watch out for the locals… they drive like crazy around the corner; it’s hard to see them!
